AB2524: Catering Host Permits

Numerous legislative bills pertaining to food service were recently passed in California.  The County of Santa Clara Department of Environmental Health is committed to keeping you informed on how this will affect food preparation in our county.  With the passage of Assembly Bill No. 2524, a “catering operation” and “host facility” would be included within the definition of a food facility.  A host facility is a location approved and permitted by the County that meets requirements to support offsite food service by a catering operation.  This bill went into effect on January 1, 2019.  With the passage of Assembly Bill No. 2524, a “catering operation” and “host facility” would be included within the definition of a food facility.  A host facility is a location approved and permitted by the County that meets requirements to support offsite food service by a catering operation.  This bill went into effect on January 1, 2019.
