Romaine Lettuce Alert

As of November 22, 2019, both CDC and FDA are posting a food safety alert advising that consumers not eat and retailers not sell any romaine lettuce harvested from the Salinas, California growing region.

This advice includes all types of romaine lettuce harvested from Salinas, California, such as whole heads of romaine, hearts of romaine, and packages of precut lettuce and salad mixes which contain romaine, including baby romaine, spring mix, and Caesar salad. For salad products, recall information can be found at the link below.

At this time, there has been NO recall issued by CDPH. For operators and consumers concerned about this, please refer to the CDC and FDA links provided above. Operators shall check with their suppliers of the source and harvest location of the romaine lettuce. If unable to obtain the information, operators are advised not to serve, nor sell it.  ​
